Meet Our Assistant Principal

Mrs. Jamie Tallent, Assistant Principal 

Mrs. Tallent brings 20 years of experience in education to her role as Assistant Principal at Summerdale School. She believes deeply in investing in the school community—partnering with families, supporting high-quality instruction, and tailoring learning to meet each student’s unique needs.

She began her career as a classroom teacher in both Kindergarten and Third Grade, where she developed a passion for working in Title I schools. That passion led her to specialize in supporting English Language Learners as an ESL Instructional Support Specialist. After eight years in the classroom, Mrs. Tallent stepped into administration as an Assistant Principal, serving two campuses and continuing her commitment to student-centered instruction.

Driven by her dedication to individualized learning and student success, she went on to serve as Principal of Fall Creek Elementary in Kingwood, Texas, for three years before relocating to Baldwin County.

Mrs. Tallent’s love for Summerdale School grew through her work with K–3 teachers as the Local Reading Specialist. She is proud to serve the school community and is committed to honoring the traditions, strong academics, and close-knit partnerships that make Summerdale truly special.
