Summerdale School Band Program

The Summerdale School Band program welcomes students in grades 6–8 who are ready to build their musical skills and be part of an exciting performance community. Our Beginner Band, open to all 6th graders, focuses on the foundations—reading music, learning proper instrument technique, and playing together as a team.

As students grow in confidence and skill, they have the opportunity to join our Concert Band in 7th and 8th grade. This ensemble proudly represents Summerdale at school events, concerts, and community performances throughout the year.

Our band program fosters discipline, teamwork, creativity, and school pride—while inspiring a lifelong love for music.

The Summerdale School Band is under the direction of Mrs. Bethany Presley Goodwin. The band consists of over 50 sixth, seventh and eighth graders, and is growing every year! The Summerdale Band has consistently scored Superior Ratings at numerous events..
